Cheeda

Ingredients

  • Saras roasted rice powder- 2 to 3 cups
  • Grated coconut- 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic- 3 cloves
  • Oil- 1 cup
  • Hot water- ½ cup
  • Salt to taste

Method of Preparation

Crush the grated coconut, cumin seeds and garlic cloves in a mixer grinder. Mix it with 2 to
3 cups of Saras roasted rice powder. Add salt to taste. Make it into a soft dough by adding hot water
slowly. Make small balls from the dough. Place a heavy bottomed pan on the stove and heat one
cup of oil. Fry the rice balls in the oil. Crispy cheeda is ready to serve.
Note: 1)You can use small onions instead of garlic.
          2)Instead of grated coconut, coconut milk is also used.
