Coconut Fish Curry

Ingredients

Fish- ½ kg
Grated coconut- one cup
Saras fish masala – 2 tablespoon
Turmeric powder- ¼ tablespoon
Chilli powder- ½ table spoon
Oil- 1 tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds- 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
Chopped ginger- 1 teaspoon
Chopped garlic- 1 teaspoon
Sliced green chillies- 2
Pot tamarind- 2 soaked in hot water.
Water
Curry leaves
Salt to taste

Method of preparation

Take one cup of grated coconut in a bowl and mix it with the prescribed
amounts of turmeric powder, chilli powder and Saras fish masala. Make it into a fine
paste using a mixer grinder. Keep it aside.
Take a pan and heat oil. Fry some mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Put
curry leaves. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies. Put the coconut paste and
saute it for 2 minutes. Add pot tamarind with hot water. Add sufficient amount of
water for the gravy. Put salt to taste. When the entire mixture starts to boil add the
fish pieces. Cook until a consistent gravy is obtained.
