Aloo Peas Chat Masala

Ingredients

Dried peas- 1 cup
Potato- 2
Chopped onion- 1
Chopped garlic- 2 cloves
Chopped ginger- 1 piece
Chopped green chillies- 2
Chopped tomato- 1
Oil- 2 tablespoons
Saras chat masala- 1tablespoon
Kashmiri chilli powder- 1 tablespoon
Saras Garam masala powder- 1 tablespoon
Saras turmeric powder- ¼ tablespoon
Salt to taste
Water
Coriander leaves

Method of preparation

Soak the dried peas in water for 8 hours. Pressure cook the peas and potatoes for about 4 to
5 whistles. Take some cooked peas and keep it aside. Smash the potatoes along with peas.
Take a pan and heat oil. Add chopped ginger, garlic, onion and green chillies in the above
mentioned quantities. Saute it well. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until the oil is clear. Add
turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder, garam masala, chat masala and salt in the prescribed
quanties. Saute it until the raw smell disappears. Take the contents and keep it aside to get cooled.
In a mixer grinder crush the contents with some water to get fine paste.
In another pan, heat some oil. Pour the entire masala into the pan and add the smashed
potatoes and peas. Cook properly by adding enough water. When the gravy gets thicker, add the
kept aside peas. If you need more gravy add some more water. Garnish with chopped coriander
leaves and serve with Puri.
