Chicken Vindaloo

Ingredients

Chicken – 1kg
Saras Vindaloo masala- 6tbsp
Kashmiri chilli powder– 2 tbsp
Green chilli- 2
Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
Vinegar- 2 tbsp
Tomato- 1½ (optional)
Sunflower oil- 2 tbsp
Water- ½ to 1 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste

Method of Preparation

Marinate the chicken with 3 tbsp of Saras vindaloo masala. Keep it aside for few hours.
Take a pan and pour 2 tbsp of oil. Add chopped onion. Saute it well until it is golden brown in
colour. Add salt to taste. Add green chillies. Add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and 2 tbsp of Kashmiri
chilli powder. Saute well. Then add 3 tbsp of Vindaloo masala and mix it well. Add 2 tbsp of
vinegar. Now add chopped tomatoes. When the tomatoes are cooked add ½ tsp of sugar. Add the
marinated chicken pieces and mix it well with the gravy. Close with a lid and cook for about 20
minutes. Give occasional stir. Add hot water for more gravy. Cook until a consistent gravy is
obtained.
