Mutton Stew

Ingredients

Mutton- 600 g
Saras mutton masala- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Potato chopped- 1
Carrot chopped - 1
Onion 2
Green chillies- 5-6
Finely chopped ginger- 1 piece
Finely chopped garlic- 4 cloves
Pepper powder- 2 tsp
Cardamom-2
Cloves- 4
Star anise- 1
Cinnamon- 2
Thick coconut milk- 1½ cup
Thin coconut milk- 2 cups

Method of Preparation

Take a pressure cooker and add 600g of mutton pieces. Add sliced onion, ginger , garlic,
green chillies and curry leaves. Add 2 tsp of pepper powder, 1 tsp of garam masala, 1 tsp of Saras
mutton masala and salt to taste. Mix well. Keep it aside for 15 minutes and cook by adding ½ cup of
water for about 5 -6 whistles.
In another cooker cook chopped potatoes and carrots. Add salt to taste.
Take a pan and heat 2 tbsp of coconut oil. Roast cardamom, cloves, star anise and cinnamon.
Add 1 thinly sliced onion. Saute until it is soft. Add green chillies and curry leaves. Add the cooked
mutton.Saute it well. Now add cooked potatoes and carrots. Mix it well. Add 2 cups of thin coconut
milk. Cook on medium flame and after it is thick add 1½ cup of thick coconut milk. Heat for about
20 seconds and put the flame off. Garnish with sliced green chillies and curry leaves.
